Luck a car wasn't passing by

BATH, Maine —Police in Bath are investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old boy.
Police said the boy told them that at about 3 p.m. Wednesday a man in a minivan approached him near the 500 block of Middle Street.
The boy said the man reached out of the minivan, grabbed him and tried to pull him into the minivan.
Police said the boy fought back and was able to free himself from the man's grasp.
Police said the boy ran back to his home.
According to investigators, the boy described the man as about 40 years old, bald, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a long beard. He was wearing ripped jeans and a gray shirt.
Police said the minivan was grayish green and had a small antenna on the roof.
The make and model of the minivan are unknown, but the boy said it was a newer model minivan.
Ed Doyle, a neighbor who lives in the area, said he is concerned because his seven year old grandson gets off the bus in the same area.
Doyle said he and his grandson's father always wait for the child at the bus stop, but the whole neighborhood is keeping an eye out for the man.
