A new report has made its way around the Internet claiming the story about a 3-year-old Mississippi girl, who was allegedly kicked out of a KFC restaurant because her face was disturbing other customers, is a hoax.
It's a story that went instantly viral. We shared the story on our ABC15 Facebook page and over 8.1 million people saw that post.
The story involves a Mississippi girl named Victoria who was attacked by three dogs and suffered several broken bones to her face, including her jaw, nose, cheek bones and right eye socket, according to the Victoria's Victories Facebook page , which first shared news of the alleged May KFC incident.
In a story posted to the Laurel Leader-Caller Monday, "sources with deep knowledge of the investigation" told the news outlet that the story is fake.
The report , citing unnamed sources who were not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, focuses on at least three points in the victim's story.
According to the report , the source says that the initial post regarding the incident said it happened at a KFC restaurant off State street. The source told the Laurel Leader-Caller that that location hasn't been open for years.
The source also claims that no transactions associated with the victim or her family's order were found at either of the two operating KFC locations in the Jackson, Mississippi area, nor were any patrons matching the victim or her family located on either restaurant's surveillance video.
A post on the Victoria's Victories Facebook page denied the news outlet's report: I promise its not a hoax, I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has. The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue. The article it self say the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement.
The fried chicken restaurant chain had not released a statement on their social media channels regarding the recent report as of Monday night. However, KFC released a statement shortly after media began reporting on the alleged incident saying it had opened an investigation, as well as donated $30,000 to the 3-year-old's medical bills .The results of the investigation are expected to be released this week.

Preventing dogs from biting kids-dog bites
BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Dog bites are a serious public health problem. Half of all children will be bitten by a dog by the time they are twelve. But some trainers say with a little education on how dogs behave pets, parents, and kids, could avoid most bad encounters. Trainers said any dog could bite - no matter, the size or breed.
Depending on the breed, some dogs are more likely to bite or nip compared to others, yet experts said a playful accident can turn into a tragedy. They also said more than 60% of dog bites come from the breed of pit bulls. To stop a bite from happening trainers said the dog needs to be trained along with the owners and kids.
It's all about reading the dog's expression, according to co-owner of Green Acres Kennel Shop, Don Hanson said you need to read a dog's behavior before approaching.
"I really believe most dog bites can be prevented. One, by training the dog. Two, by training the children and three by training the adults."
Hanson said you should not pet a dog on their head instead scratch their sides, chest or base of their tail.

Fire damages apartment building in Auburn
AUBURN — Tenants who lived at apartments at a Northern Avenue building were relocated Friday after fire swept through the attic, fire officials said.
The blaze started on the porch of the third floor at 37 Northern Ave. Heights, Fire Investigator David O'Connell said. Tenants used a plastic container that was next to a bag of trash to extinguish cigarettes. The fire likely was accidental, he said.
The fire worked its way into the building's attic, making its way into a sidewall. Firewalls had been built into the attic, slowing the fire's progress, O'Connell said. Firefighters cut a hole in the roof over the middle section and had access to the outside sections through an opening in the ceiling.
Fire, smoke and water damage was estimated at more than $100,000 for the 26-year-old building. The 24-unit building was insured, but none of the tenants had renters insurance.
Electrical and gas service were shut off to the building and likely won't be restored until the middle of next week at the earliest, O'Connell said.
The American Red Cross of Maine provided emergency shelter, food and clothing for roughly 25 displaced tenants. The nonprofit group also provides emotional support.
The blaze was called in shortly before 6:30 a.m. by a tenant in a building across the way, O'Connell said.
No injuries to tenants nor firefighters were reported.
Lewiston firefighters responded to the scene for mutual aid, helping local firefighters to battle the fire, which was brought under control within an hour.
"They did an amazing job stopping the fire," O'Connell said.
If confirmed that smoking materials caused the fire, this will mark the same cause for the third time this year in the city, O'Connell said. There were eight fires caused by smoking materials last year, he said.
"People need to make sure their smoking materials are extinguished" and disposed of properly in a metal or other nonflammable container, he said.

Augusta needs more hospital beds?
It is beginning to cause some major headaches.
When Maine General Health announced plans to build a new hospital, it requested 226 beds. That was the same amount of beds in the two hospitals it was replacing in Augusta and Waterville. That request was denied by the state.
Since opening in November, the new $312 million hospital has been filled to capacity on several occasions. When all 192 beds are filled, the hospital staff must find room for additional patients in the Emergency Room.
"We offer them the option to be transferred somewhere else. If they want to stay then we typically move a stretcher out and move an inpatient bed into the emergency room itself" said Chuck Hays, Maine General's CEO.
Hospital officials are now monitoring the situation to see if this is just a particularly busy time or it becomes a trend. The hospital could request to add more beds but that project will cost a lot more than it would have under the original hospital construction.
Why so many people in the hospital?? is my question and maybe yours

Mom over dosed leaving Two young children home alone for days
"First of all R.I.P. now your with god"
FWORCESTER, Massachusetts (WHDH) -- Two young children were found home alone with their mother's .I.Pirst of all Rdead body.
Jill Skemmer watched in horror as the young victim's body was pulled from the apartment Friday night.
"I saw all the cops everywhere and then I saw the hearse pull up and I saw the gurney right there and then I saw the body bag and that was it," said Skemmer.
Skemmer lives in the same building and began to notice something strange as the week went on.
"There was a lot of yelling with the kids. I could hear her 24/7. On Thursday, I was sitting here doing some work and I thought to myself, 'God, I haven't heard anything. I haven't heard her voice for a couple days,'" said Skemmer.
Police confirmed the woman, who hasn't been identified, died from a drug overdose.
Neighbors said inside the home were her two young children. Ryan Cicero is the one who found them Friday night.
"They said mommy's sleeping. We coached them to open the door. He couldn't reach so we told him to get the chair. He stood on the chair and still couldn't reach. Grabbed a few pillows and hopped up there and unlocked it. I'm speechless of the whole thing. It was awful," said Cicero.
